I’m so excited to be blogging again. It’s been 4 years since my last post. What can I say? Life happened.
At the time, in 2014, I chose to focus solely on my career as a UX Designer. I had juggled a full-time job and my side hustles for years and then one day, it became too much. What’s funny to me now is that I chose a strict corporate life over the creative world I created through my side businesses. At the time, I guess I only saw my photography, blogging and personal design clients as a side hustle. Or, I chose the route that is frankly more safe and secure. Well, fast forward four years and I found myself miserable, staring at the walls of a four wall cubicle wondering what would have been if I would have chosen my hustles instead.
Finally, in February 2018 I decided to take the leap to being my own boss. I left corporate America and became a full-time photographer, web designer and developer. I realized that I would never be happy if I didn’t chase my dreams. It has been a rollercoaster ever since! Scary, a lot of ups and downs, but so exciting! I don’t know why I allowed fear to hold me back for so long. God put this passion, creativity and entrepreneur spirit in me. Why would I not live and walk in my purpose?
So what will you get from this blog? Well I’ve learned so much this past year as a business owner and I plan to share some of the things I wish I would have known when I started. Hopefully it will be a help to any entrepreneurs and business owners out there. I also plan to share my photography, travel guides and some features on style and interiors.
Thanks so much for reading and joining me on this new, wonderful, creative ride.
